Pursuit Group – Working Towards GDPR Compliance

Pursuit Resources Group are committed to maintaining the privacy of our candidates, and protecting their personal information.

What is GDPR?

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a regulation which aims to ensure that any organisation which collects or processes personal information on residents of the European Union does so in a safe and responsible way.

The GDPR was adopted on 27th April 2016, and will be enforceable from 25th May 2018. All organisations must be fully compliant by this date.

How Does this Affect Pursuit?

As a recruitment consultancy, Pursuit Resources Group Ltd stores, process, and distributes personal data about our candidates. Simply put, we wouldn’t be able to help our candidates find their ideal role if we didn’t!

The requirements of GDPR mean that we’re contacting all of our candidates to ensure that they would like us to keep their details on file, even if they’re not currently looking for a new role. We’re also sending all of our candidates a copy of our revised privacy policy to help them make an informed decision about their personal information.

How Does Pursuit Collect Personal Information?

When you send us your CV, apply for one of our jobs online, contact us directly for help finding a new role, sign-up for job alerts, or register as a temp, you’re providing us with personal information about you. This can include:

  • Name
  • Contact details
  • Current position (including salary)
  • Work history
  • Work eligibility
  • Copies of your identification documents
  • References from previous employers

How Does Pursuit Store Personal Information?

We have a paperless working environment, and all of our candidates’ personal information is securely stored on our dedicated database. If you submit personal information through our website, it isn’t stored online and is instead transferred directly to our database.

Who Does Pursuit Share Personal Information With?

We only share our candidates’ personal information for the purposes of finding them a new role. As soon as a candidate has been placed in a new role, or tells us that they’re no longer seeking employment, we mark their profile as inactive and cease sharing their personal information until they tell us otherwise.

What Changes are Pursuit Making?

In order to ensure our compliance with GDPR, as well as giving our candidates a simplified application process, we’ll shortly be launching our new website.

Our new website will have increased security measures to protect our candidates’ data even further, including IP locked logins – meaning we’ll block any device which has multiple unsuccessful account logins.

How Can I Find Out More?

You can find our privacy policy here (please note that this will shortly be updated to reflect our commitment to GDPR), or you can contact us directly at info@pursuitgroup.co.uk or 01245 362500.
