Pursuit’s Autumn programme helps HR professionals plan for change

The holiday season is almost over and, at Pursuit, it’s all go preparing for our Autumn activities; helping our busy clients to plan for the changes ahead in the workplace, especially with a new Labour Government in place.

First up is our next Women in Leadership group meeting, when we’ll be gathering some of the region’s most senior HR professionals to discuss the topics which face them each working day. This time, we will be welcoming Rameez Kaleem, Founder and Director of 3R Strategy, a leading firm of Independent Pay & Reward Consultants, based in Central London.

Rameez will be helping us to examine these topics:

  • – The latest trends in pay transparency
  • – How to put together a business case for pay transparency
  • – The EU pay transparency directive
  • – Pay budgets for 2025 (preliminary results)
  • – How to build a fair and equitable approach to pay
  • – Should we link pay with performance?

This group has proved essential to our members, not only thanks to our guest speakers, who have brought us some amazing insights into a range of helpful topics, but also to each other, as we have swapped experiences and exchanged knowledge on some of the UK’s hottest HR topics.

September’s group meeting will also give our HR gurus an exclusive first look at our forthcoming Pursuit Salary Benchmarking Survey, which we will be issuing this Autumn. If you are interested in seeing this when it becomes available, please keep an eye on our social media streams and our website, as we’ll be announcing how you can sign up for a copy as soon as it’s in print.

Hot on the heels of this will be our Autumn Employment Law Seminar, with Cas Carrington of KLC Employment law, on the morning of Thursday 3rd October. Bookings for the Employment Law Seminar are open now and you can secure your place by completing the form on our Employment Law Seminars page.

In this seminar, our expert, Cas will be looking at the changes ahead under our new Labour Government – it’s all change, she tells us! The topics will include some of Labour’s reform commitments, which include the following:

  1. – Day one rights for claiming unfair dismissal
  2. – Taking the cap off unfair dismissal compensation
  3. – Trade Union reform – making it easier to knock on your door
  4. – Mandatory ethnicity and disability pay gap reporting
  5. – Fire and rehire

Cas will also be looking at the most important case law of recent months and how this is shaping the future of employment law and best practice. These cases will touch on the following topics:

  • – Implied versus express contractual terms
  • – Gross misconduct and redundancy
  • – Understanding ‘work of a particular kind’

Do please sign up as soon as you can to secure your place. Once again, it will be held at our base at The Plaza, Braintree. Full details are on our seminars page.

It’s going to be a really busy Autumn, and we’ll be watching to see what lies in store for employers. If we can help in any way as you tackle the coming changes and build your teams, please do let us know.
